NJ Road Sisters Ride in Rolling Thunder XXIX

The Rolling Thunder First Amendment Demonstration Run is an annual ride and gathering that first started in 1988. Riders from around the nation, and even around the world rally in the Pentagon parking lots and and at noon, all the engines are ignited at once in a huge thunderous rumble. The run proceeds through the streets of Washington, D.C. where other vets and patriots are gathered to waive and cheers also showing support for the efforts to find lost service men and women of past conflicts. Afterward, it is an opportunity to meet old and new friends, pay respect at the memorials and participate in the Memorial Day events. Beginning in 1987 and continuing through the present, Rolling Thunder has conducted the Run to the Wall on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.

This year, New Jersey Road Sisters participating in the run including me, our leader, and a Retired Army Veteran with her daughter. The vast amount of motorcycles, veterans, and patriots made this the single largest motorcycle run we were ever part of. It was peaceful, organized, and an incredible bucket list experience. Every rider must do this pilgrimage at least once in their life.

We were humbled and incredibly grateful for all the men and women who lost their life, limbs, love ones, and lifestyle in service to this country.
